Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate is eager to grow within a supportive firm environment, manage their own caseload with supervision, and contribute to our firm’s mission of serving clients with excellence. This role requires a strong foundation in various areas of law, including but not limited to estate planning, environmental law, and family law. This role requires excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to effectively negotiate on behalf of clients. The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys and clients to provide comprehensive legal services while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing a variety of legal matters from intake through resolution.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
- Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and guidance.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff to ensure timely case progression.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards and professional conduct.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and motions, ensuring clarity and compliance with applicable laws.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings across various practice areas including family law, contract law, and business law
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases involving litigation, patent law, and civil disputes.
- Advise clients on legal rights and obligations while providing guidance on litigation procedures, employment, and guardianship cases.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation within the law office to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with legal standards.
- Participate in client meetings to discuss case progress, strategies, and potential outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Tennessee.
- 0–3 years of legal experience (new graduates and recent bar admittees encouraged to apply).
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to client service and teamwork.
