Community Education Gymnastics Program Staff
~Assistant Instructor:
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age, experience in gymnastics, evidence of ability to teach fundamental gymnastics skills and knowledge of spotting skills. Positive, enthusiastic, respectful attitude. Ability to relate well to children and teens as well as parents. Ability to work in a collaborative coaching atmosphere. Commitment to program's high standards. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Compensation: Starting range- $15.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on position. Position is not benefit eligible.
~Assistant Instructor:
- This position is for new coaches with less than one year experience.
- This position will begin as a side by side position along with a more experienced coach and may continue for varying amounts of time based on the individual development of the coach and needs of the program.
- This person has 1 or more years of experience coaching gymnastics.
- They are able to lead a class of an age appropriate size on their own.
- They can help assist with set up without additional guidance on the lesson plan.
- Key holder, opening and closing to all programming that may happen in the gym with the ability to fill the role of gymnastics supervisor on a situational basis.
- Can fill a room lead position during CE classes.
- Key holder, opening and closing to all programming that may happen in the gym with the ability to fill the role of gymnastics supervisor on a situational basis. In this role that would include operating high school class without a supervisor present on a need be basis.
- Can fill a room lead position during CE classes.
- May be involved in lesson planning, can independently interpret lesson plans assigned to them and can do a full room set up unassisted.
- This position requires the ability to assist in training new community ed class coaches.
