Minimum Qualifications:
- Current NYS School District Leadership Certification or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in school administration.

Description:
The successful candidate for this position is an effective communicator with a proven record of developing positive relationships among students, families, and school staff. The candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in providing instructional leadership at the district level in order to develop, implement, and supervise high quality systems & structures for Pupil Personnel Services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal IDEA & Section 504, and NYS Part 200 Regulations.
- Knowledge of research-based practice for instructional design, delivery, and assessment to support students with disabilities and those students at risk.
Responsibilities:
1. CPSE/CSE Chairperson for Pre-K through Grade 12,
2. Directing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP),
3. Coordinating compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations governing the education of students with disabilities,
4. Monitoring of out-of-district placements and related services,
5. Supervising departmental administrative staff,
6. Conducting performance observations of department personnel.
7. Evaluating annually the performance of program personnel, including speech pathologists, school psychologists, school social workers, registered nurses, teaching assistants and developing plans for improvement.
8. Communication and collaboration with Principals and other administrators regarding assignments for department personnel and programs for students.
9. Screening and interviewing of applicants for pupil personnel position vacancies and makes recommendations for hiring.
10. Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) will arrange medical services to be provided by the school physician and leads nurses in developing and maintaining effective health programs. This includes implementing mandates for pupil screening and immunizations.
11. Preparing and monitoring the annual budget for the Pupil Personnel Services department.
12. Administering the Home Instruction Program.
13. Coordinating and developing District policies, regulations and procedures as they relate to pupil personnel services.
