The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking qualified and motivated individual for a part-time Corrections Officer position within the Montgomery County Jail. As a Corrections Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety, security, and well-being of the inmates and staff within our detention facility.

Responsibilities Include:
- Perform regular security rounds and inspections throughout the facility
- Monitor and maintain conditions of the jail to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Search and process incoming arrestees
- Record and manage personal information for all new arrests
- Inspect and monitor incoming and outgoing mail
- Respond to facility emergencies, including medical situations
- Operate jail security systems and run facility doors
- Escort inmates to designated areas (court, medical, recreation, etc.)
- Prepare and serve meals to inmates
- Assist with medical intake procedures
- Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation within the facility
- Input and accept bonds for inmate release
- Communicate professionally with arresting officers and other law enforcement personnel
- Review and monitor inmate phone calls
- Complete fingerprinting and booking procedures
- Facilitate the release of inmates
- Operate and update information in the jail’s computer systems
- Complete all required training as mandated by the State
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment and respond effectively to emergencies
- Computer literacy and ability to learn facility software systems
- Must complete and maintain state-mandated training and certifications
Work Schedule:
- Part-Time: Flexible scheduling available; shifts may vary based on departmental needs
