Job Overview
As a Correctional Officer at the Dodge County Jail, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the correctional facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate activities and ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain safety and security standards.
- Write detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems to observe inmate movements and detect any suspicious behavior.
- Respond to emergencies and manage conflicts among inmates in a calm and effective manner.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed to ensure proper procedures are followed.
Skills
- Certification in correctional officer training or related field is preferred.
- Strong report writing skills to document incidents accurately and comprehensively.
- Ability to apply conflict management techniques effectively in high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures is advantageous.
