Oversee activity/development of community partnership projects; coordinate production of department newsletters, annual reports, video tapes, public service announcements, advertising and other literature; maintain office system to support goals of programs; responsible for planning, training and policy development in public relations areas; may participate in overall agency planning, training and procedure development as needed.
Stay proficient in FEMA and MCEMA training and coursework and be proficient in CodeRED emergency messaging. Will act as the spokesperson for any county emergency if the primary EMA PIO is unavailable.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or English with either two (2) years of experience in government operations, communications strategic planning and multimedia presentation techniques or one (1) year of management experience in government operations, communications strategic planning and multimedia presentations techniques; or Associates Degree in Public Administration or Communications related field with either four (4) years of experience in government operations, communications strategic planning and multimedia presentation techniques or three (3) years of management experience in government operations, communications strategic planning and multimedia presentation techniques; OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements.
Must provide writing and visual samples for interview. Moderate to expert knowledge of Adobe Create Cloud Suite preferred.
Driving Requirement:
Must maintain a current valid United States driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
