What You'll Do
- Conduct student audiological evaluations and assess hearing and auditory processing abilities.
- Identify hearing loss, causal factors, and related balance disorders affecting academic success and communication.
- Document evaluation results (ETR) and provide implications for instruction.
- Recommend, fit, and dispense hearing aids and/or assistive listening devices; provide auditory training and speech/lip-reading instruction.
- Collaborate with staff and families to implement strategies that support student access, inclusion, and success.
- Identify environmental adaptations and positive behavioral interventions to enhance student learning and functional skills.
- Maintain audiology equipment and ensure it is operational.
- Process documentation and comply with district records management policies.
- Valid Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license and Ohio State Board of Education Pupil Services license.
- Knowledge of assessment tools, audiology equipment, and auditory training resources.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of inclusive educational strategies and evidence-based audiological practices.
- Satisfactory fingerprinting and criminal records check results (provided for free by MCESC!).
