We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Foreign Language Instructor/ Classroom Floater/ Aftercare Staff for the 2026-2027 school year to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to inspire young learners in a nurturing, Montessori-based environment. Hours for this position are Mon-Fri., 8:30am-4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lessons that foster foreign language acquisition through discussions, direct instruction, demonstrations, and independent practice using diverse, proven methods.
- Monitor and assess student progress through observation and task completion, adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to maintain engagement and promote mastery.
- Provide classroom coverage to support Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants during meetings, absences, and breaks as well as work in the aftercare program.
- Help set up learning materials, ensure supplies and technology are ready for use, and contribute to a well-prepared classroom environment.
- Create and maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive space where all children feel valued and supported.
- Engage with students in a way that aligns with Montessori principles, encouraging curiosity and independence.
- Be open to coaching and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold Montessori values, school policies, and state regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events to stay connected with the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s (Required) or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in language arts, foreign language, early childhood education, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years teaching foreign language in a primary or elementary school setting.
- Skills: Fluent in Spanish (Conversational & Written Proficiency)
- Familiarity with Montessori philosophy is a plus.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves extended periods of standing, walking, and actively engaging with students both individually and in group settings.
Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
