DESCRIPTION
The Health & Safety Services Technician performs a variety of tasks in order to assist the team of doctors, physician assistants, nurses and surgical technologists in the Center. This includes timely and efficient turnover of the ORs, assisting the team in positioning of the patient, preparedness of patient supplies and positioning devices as requested, re-stocking of all areas, and equipment maintenance. The Health & Safety Services Tech operates under the supervision of the circulating nurse, with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision and to organize work in order of importance
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center strongly preferred, performing similar duties. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills. Requires ability to perform lifting and transport of patients; and lifting of instrument trays and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and in a variety of surgical environments. Requires manual dexterity to handle equipment and instrumentation, ability to speak read and write English.
