Responsibilities
- Maintain clinical documentation workflows and content for inpatient services (Nursing, respiratory, behavioral health, nutrition, social work, and ancillary clinicians).
- Maintain hospital outpatient department workflow content for Dialysis & Nutrition.
- Perform analysis of necessary application modifications.
- Work with governance committees to develop Epic solutions. Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
- Work with application teams to implement changes in Epic effectively.
- Provide go-live and rollout support.
- Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
- Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
- Interpret end-user requirements by fully discussing potential options and helping clients reach an optimal solution.
- Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
- Create system specifications from user requirements.
- Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and system modifications.
- Write and maintain accurate and current documentation. Maintain training materials and disseminate them to users.
- Provide support for day-to-day operations, application troubleshooting, go-lives, and rollout.
- Coordinate modifications and updates, recommend improvements, and provide proactive monitoring.
- Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis.
- Provide on-site support within the Montefiore Health System when needed.
- Knowledge of inpatient workflows.
- Epic certification in Inpatient Clinical Documentation (Clin Doc).
- 2 years of related clinical or business experience.
- Application/System implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience.
- Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Knowledge of SDLC.
- Critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Epic Clinical documentation tools and Text utilities.
- Epic certification in ClinDoc, Orders or Ambulatory.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Programming skills.
- MEETING/MAINTAINING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR EPIC CERTIFICATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
