About Montana Knife Company
Montana Knife Company is building more than premium American-made knives. We are building a brand around craftsmanship, grit, quality, and bringing American manufacturing back one knife at a time. Position Summary
Montana Knife Company is hiring a Director of Growth Marketing to help take the business to the next level. This is a senior leadership role for a builder, operator, and strategist who is obsessed with scaling brands through disciplined execution, strong analytics, and relentless focus on results.
We are looking for someone who has already helped scale a brand from approximately $50 million to $200 million in revenue, ideally in a 100 percent online direct-to-consumer business. This role is for a proven leader who understands how to grow revenue efficiently, improve return on ad spend, acquire net new customers, strengthen brand awareness, and build repeatable systems that scale.
The right candidate understands that growth is not about chasing vanity metrics. It is about building a durable engine across ecommerce, paid media, customer acquisition, conversion, retention, analytics, and brand performance.
This person will own growth most heavily through Shopify and paid media, and must have strong experience using DTC marketing tools to drive performance and scale.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own the growth marketing strategy across customer acquisition, retention, conversion, and revenue expansion
-
Lead initiatives that increase revenue, improve efficiency, and support the next stage of company growth
-
Drive performance across Shopify, paid media, email, SMS, landing pages, conversion rate optimization, and other digital growth levers
-
Improve ROAS, customer acquisition efficiency, and contribution to profitable growth
-
Increase net new customers while maintaining strong customer quality and lifetime value
-
Partner closely with the CMO, creative team, ecommerce team, and leadership team to align growth strategy with company goals
-
Build forecasting models, KPI dashboards, and reporting systems that make performance measurable and actionable
-
Identify winning growth levers, test them aggressively, and scale what works
-
Develop a disciplined testing culture across offers, creative, channels, funnels, audience segmentation, and customer journeys
-
Use analytics to uncover bottlenecks in the funnel and implement strategies to improve conversion and retention
-
Lead channel planning and budget allocation with a strong focus on return, efficiency, and scale
-
Translate growth insights into repeatable systems and processes that can support a much larger business
-
Strengthen brand awareness in ways that support both short-term revenue and long-term brand equity
-
Work in a highly collaborative way with the existing team, with the opportunity to help build and shape the growth function over time
What Success Looks Like
-
Revenue growth that is measurable, efficient, and repeatable
-
Improved ROAS and stronger performance across paid media and ecommerce channels
-
Increased net new customer acquisition with healthy downstream retention
-
Better visibility into performance through clear reporting and KPI ownership
-
Stronger conversion across the customer journey
-
Smarter budget allocation based on data, testing, and business priorities
-
Scalable systems that help move MKC from its current stage to the next major revenue milestone
-
Strong collaboration across the marketing and ecommerce team, with the potential to build out additional capability over time
Required Qualifications
-
8 years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, ecommerce marketing, or related leadership roles
-
Proven experience helping scale a consumer brand from roughly $50 million to $200 million in revenue
-
Strong direct-to-consumer ecommerce experience in a business that sells primarily or entirely online
-
Demonstrated success increasing revenue, ROAS, net new customers, and overall marketing efficiency
-
Deep understanding of Shopify, paid media, and full-funnel DTC growth strategy
-
Strong experience with DTC marketing tools and performance-driven ecommerce systems
-
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working closely with creative, ecommerce, finance, and executive leadership
-
Strong analytical and financial mindset with the ability to connect marketing performance to business outcomes

-
Experience managing substantial paid media budgets with clear accountability to return
-
Passion for American manufacturing, brand building, and the Montana Knife Company mission
