What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility position at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co?
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Performs all duties associated with line locating, atmospheric corrosion monitoring and leak survey. Responds to emergency line locates, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and after-hours calls. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school education or GED equivalency.
Requires good communication skills (written and verbal), troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Must be able to perform all the essential functions required of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be legally authorized to work in United States, no sponsorships considered.
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong working-knowledge of natural gas properties and equipment.
Very good computer and record keeping skills.
Knowledge and experience performing and working with line locating, grading leaks, and atmospheric corrosion and leak survey processes and equipment with internal company programs, etc.
Highly motivated self-starter with excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to exceed the needs of the customer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Locates underground company facilities (line locating).
Surveys and inspects for corrosion and leaks, including grading of identified leaks.
Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Journeyperson Wage - $38.37
