Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Provide accounting, finance and analytical support in the verification, control and processing of work activities in respective area. Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and periodic financial statements, analyses, reports and data requests for management, internal departments and external entities.

This position may support annual 1099 reporting, unclaimed property compliance and recovery efforts, payment exception analysis and vendor master data maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Financial Analyst I ($57,110 - $ 71,390):

  • Must possess a working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and principles at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in accountingfinance or related field.

Financial Analyst II ($63,860 - $79,830): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; and
  • Two years’ related accounting/finance experience.

Financial Analyst III ($73,460 - $91,830): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; and
  • Four years’ related accounting experience, with a minimum of two years’ experience in financial analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA or professional certification desired.
  • JD Edwards and utility accounting experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered. 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete the day-to-day activities, calculations, reconciliations and analyses necessary to perform periodic financial accounting closes. Assist in the coordination, preparation and administration of the annual capital and O & M budgets, the Operating Plan and the five-year Financial Forecast. Recommend enhancements to accounting policies, procedures and information systems. Assist with compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and to the FERC Chart of Accounts.
  • For multiple business segments, jurisdictions and companies: accumulates, calculates, and records monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting estimates and amortizations to ensure proper accounting and allocation.
  • Prepares stand-alone, consolidated and combined monthly internal statements and financial reports and responds to data requests from internal and external entities, ensuring that final product includes concise and accurate explanations of variances and changes and appropriate supporting documents.
  • Designs, completes and maintains spreadsheets and databases necessary for assigned duties. Assists in the maintenance, enhancement and implementation of accounting and financial application software.
  • Assists in compliance with GAAP, SOX and FERC, calculation, accumulation and reporting of financial data relating to new or existing FASBs or other accounting pronouncements.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
