If you have never welded before, but have always had an interest, we can train you in MIG welding. Candidates who excel at this training possess mechanical aptitude, have great hand/eye coordination, bring a desire to learn, appreciate hands-on instruction, and enjoy teamwork. Again, no prior welding experience is required. This is a great opportunity for people looking to transition to a new career!
Classes starting May 18th 2026
Position: Weld School Trainee
Shift: Monday-Friday; 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Status: Fulltime
The 6-week gas metal arc welding (GMAW) on-the-job training program is designed to equip trainees with the skills and knowledge to:
- Understand the GMAW process
- Use the proper safety precautions for arc welding
- Learn the impact that key variables have on weld integrity and identify weld defects
- Interpret blueprints utilized in the welding environment
- Create an understanding of Monroe Truck Equipment's workmanship standards
As a welder, you will be responsible for safely preparing metal for weld operations per our customer specifications, drawings, and instructions from engineering.
