Are you a detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys working with and assisting others? If so, Monroe County’s Child Support Department might have the job for you. We’re hiring a full-time Fiscal Assistant. Successful candidates will have graduated from high school or equivalent and have three years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or other related experience. Previous customer service experience is a must. Candidates with an equivalent combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may also be considered.
Our Fiscal Assistant provides specialized child support financial functions to provide technical support relating to child support related financial accounts. This position provides responsive and courteous customer service while completing a variety of clerical-related duties. This position maintains electronic and paper filing record systems to provide easy access to records and information and initiates and sends correspondence to interested parties in response to case specific financial requests. This position also contacts attorneys, employers, and other agency requests for changes and financial information involving questionable court orders and payment amounts. Our Fiscal Assistant acts as a resource person for other staff and provides assistance in interpreting and explaining financial records as recorded in the KIDS system and reconciles account balances and provides explanation of the same to clients, attorneys, or the court as needed.
