TITLE: Outreach and Field Specialist
SUPERVISOR: Director of Housing Quality & Energy Conservation
SUPERVISES: No one
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
WAGE RANGE: $17.30 - $21.63 per hour
JOB GOAL: To engage with prospective clients, partners and the community to promote current programs within the Housing Quality and Energy Conservation Department and the agency as a whole. This position will maintain a social media presence for the agency, and organize community efforts to help spread the word of MCOP and the Opportunity Center.
DUTIES:
- Work with Director of Housing Quality & Energy Conservation to develop strategies to achieve department goals
- Engage the community regarding the Weatherization Assistance Program and other department programs and services
- Develop and communicate program information to keep prospective clients, partners and community informed regarding available services within the Housing Quality and Energy Conservation Department
- Conduct initial home walk-throughs and in-progress inspections on client homes as needed, including taking before, after, and in-progress photos
- Conduct Energy Education activities
- Assist with SHPO evaluations and communications
- Serve as liaison between contractors and clients
- Expand and develop community relationships to grow programs and services
- Participate in offsite outreach activities within Monroe, Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties
- Marketing of programs and services on various social media and communication platforms
- Coordinate program, event, and content email and/or social media marketing campaigns
- Create materials for various marketing channels, ensuring consistent voice
- Provide follow-up with those who have inquired, visited website/social media, or who have been referred to us by a partnering agency
- Actively seek new creative outreach opportunities
- Attend trainings as required including MITEC and related trainings
- Participate in fundraising, community awareness, and outreach events
- Comply with Federal Privacy Act Regulations
- Other duties as requested by the Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Marketing, public relations or similar experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and experience with professional written, verbal, and electronic communication
- Self-starter, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through
- Ability to interact and maintain professional, positive relationships with clients, partnering agencies and the community
- Ability to empathize and communicate effectively
- Flexible and able to multitask
- Ability to work independently and also as an integral member of a team
- Must have access to vehicle during work hours, and a good driving record
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a grant-funded position. Renewable each year upon grant renewal. Regular full-time (40 hours per week) at MCOP Central Office, 1140 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161
