Position Title: Inclusion Aides (6-7 hours per day) Newport, MI 48166

Location: Jefferson Schools (Building location will be determined)
Reports To: Building Principal
Salary: According to Master Contract with the Jefferson Assistant Paraprofessional Association
Job Goal: To provide students with a first-class learning experience, contributing to their development as responsible
citizens and leaders in their communities.
Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate. Strongly prefer an associate’s degree or a passing score of the Parapro
Assessment or WorkKeys Paraprofessional test.
Role:
- Support learning of students under supervision of the classroom teacher
- Assist the classroom teacher in maintaining individual student records, when asked, for students identified as needing
supplemental help
- Assist the classroom teacher in keeping the classroom neat, clean, and orderly to provide work and study areas
- Demonstrate exceptional classroom techniques, which include the art of questioning, clarity of assignments,
teacher experiences in large and small groups
- Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children
- Promotes responsible citizenship through actions as a role model
- Provides a classroom atmosphere based on the principles of firm, fair, and consistent practices, respect for individual
- Effectively participate in meetings and other required district and building activities
- Carry out instructional support and training activities with students under the direction of the teacher
- Assist students in meeting self-help, health and behavior needs including toileting and personal care needs
- Participates in special instructional activities to meet program and student goals (e.g. loading/unloading buses,
- Understand and be aware of medical needs of students and following medical protocol under the supervision of a
- Follows established policies/procedures re: students medical concerns, safety, student rights, emergency/disaster plans
