Function of Position
The primary role for Engineering Technologies department student aides is to monitor our Learning Center, located in building 9, room 143A. Student Aides may work on their coursework/homework during their shifts, so long as they are able to multi-task by simultaneously keeping an eye on the Learning Center.
This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.

Examples Of Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer basic questions, such as how students who use the lab can sign into the sign-in PC, or how to add more paper/toner to the printers in the Learning Center.
- Responsible for letting their supervisor(s) know if there are any students breaking the posted rules in the lab. These rules include keeping volume levels at an acceptable/respectful level, not eating food at the computer stations in the lab, not having open drink containers near the PCs, etc.
- Help with various departmental tasks, such as classroom upkeep and/or taking inventory of classroom materials.
- Adheres to the College Code of Conduct.
- Contributes to, supports, and maintains an equitable, inclusive, and collaborative College environment.
- Maintains technological competencies utilized by the College.
- Commits to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.
- Commits to professional growth. which includes seeking ongoing training in diversity, equity and inclusion to better serve students.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
