Positions Available
- School Nurses for Summer Work Program
- Sports Recertification: Between 4-6 hour sessions available in August
- CSE Committee preparation
- Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
- Monitor physical status of children regarding chronic diseases (i.e., epilepsy, diabetes) in addition to other disabilities (i.e., developmental, emotional).
- Dispense and monitor medications and treatments.
- Consult with staff regarding medical and developmental status of children.
- Liaison with physicians, community agencies, parents, students, and staff.
- Develop IHCPs and Emergency Plans as needed.
- Provide First Aid to students and staff.
- Prepare information for CSE meetings.
- Recertify students for participation in sports.
- Ability to run to emergencies and perform CPR.
- Civil Service eligibility as a School Nurse:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited NYS Registered School of Nursing.
- Possession of a NYS License as a Registered Nurse.
- Current license and registration to practice nursing in NYS.
- CPR/AED Certified.
- Prior school nursing, pediatric nursing experience desirable.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation), which may or may not include responding to emergency situations quickly (which may require running up/downstairs or running to sports field areas).
Salary : $32 - $52
