- Actual Salary is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
- Provide complex clerical tasks, requiring a high degree of independent judgment, flexibility, confidentiality and professionalism. Be proactive, anticipating office needs, making appropriate decisions quickly, be versatile, adapt to a variety of circumstances and exhibit effective problem-solving skills.
- General clerical duties including processing phone calls, e-mail correspondence and filing.
- Maintain staff time and attendance for payroll.
- Maintain personal files for office staff, mechanics, bus drivers and bus attendants.
- Create recommendations for hire on Frontline for regular school year and ESY and as needed during the school year.
- Coordinate calendars and meetings as needed.
- Create letters for mailings to staff and districts and do so by the required deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Frontline, WinCapWeb and WinCap Financial preferred.
- Prepare purchase orders, process invoices and order all office supplies.
- Complete appropriate forms for conferences for the director and office staff.
- Other duties as requested by Director.
- Civil Service eligibility for Clerk I: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus either:
- Four (4) years of paid full-time or its part-time or volunteer equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR,
- An associate degree in Secretarial Science, Office Technology, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience as described in (A) above; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
- Successful completion of one (1) year of college coursework (or 30 semester credit hours) from a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
- Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Salesclerk shall not be considered office clerical experience. 2. Strong interpersonal skills greeting visitors and callers, and in interactions with students and staff members.

- Ability to handle confidential material appropriately.
