The Monomoy Regional School District is seeking a Preschool Teacher, meeting the specific needs of those learning English as a second language. PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Pups Prekindergarten Teacher provides a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all children, with the ability to meet the specific needs of those learning English as a second language. Our program is a full, school-day program also designed to support all families in our community, particularly those experiencing housing insecurities, low income, and/or challenges with transportation and access to high-quality prekindergarten programming. RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred)Massachusetts Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education (or willingness to obtain)Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement requiredExperience working with prekindergarten-aged children, including English LearnersKnowledge of early childhood development and best practices in early childhood educationUnderstanding of second language acquisition principles and strategiesStrong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamPatience, flexibility, and a positive attitudeFluency in a second language is a plusExperience with assessments designed for English Learners is a plusExperience working with community resources and acting as a liaison is a plusSUPERVISION: Reports to: Director of Student ServicesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
