About The Job
The Engineer, Quality Systems provides technical leadership in food safety, quality systems, and process improvement to ensure Monogram’s products meet or exceed customer expectations. This role leads projects that strengthen process control, quality control points, and system capability while ensuring full adherence to Monogram standards, customer requirements, and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
This is a remote role that requires travel to manufacturing facilities and partner locations to support design, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About The Job
The Engineer, Quality Systems provides technical leadership in food safety, quality systems, and process improvement to ensure Monogram’s products meet or exceed customer expectations. This role leads projects that strengthen process control, quality control points, and system capability while ensuring full adherence to Monogram standards, customer requirements, and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
This is a remote role that requires travel to manufacturing facilities and partner locations to support design, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Scale up research & development (R&D) formulations to full-scale production, ensuring all flow diagrams, specifications, and plant processes are developed in accordance with:
- Customer requirements
- Monogram standards and specifications
- Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Develop statistical and product evidence for customer review to confirm compliance with product design criteria.
- Create detailed scopes of work that clearly communicate project objectives to clients, Sales, Operations, and Finance teams.
- Lead food safety and quality improvement projects at manufacturing sites to reduce defects and customer complaints.
- Train Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) personnel on Lean Six Sigma methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to define project installation requirements, including sanitary design, materials of construction, and installation methods.
- Utilize standard engineering practices, including calculations, spreadsheets, equipment schedules, standard details, and control sequences.
- Respond quickly and accurately to customer inquiries and provide timely technical support.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support quality and safety initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Chemical, or Food Process Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, including 3–5 years focused on process improvement within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Experience with HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI standards and working knowledge of 9 CFR and 21 CFR regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Must be able to travel as required for project design, implementation, and execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Expertise in Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- Deep understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
- Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to influence and drive change through collaboration and data-driven decision-making
- Remote work with regular travel to plant sites requiring standing, walking, and climbing in production environments
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Visual acuity sufficient for reviewing documents, specifications, and technical data

- Remote-based with frequent travel to manufacturing plants and partner locations
- Exposure to typical food manufacturing environments, including variable temperatures, humidity, and noise levels
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, and steel-toe shoes, is required when on site
