Monmouth College’s School of Education and Human Development seeks applications for a tenure track, assistant level generalist position in Preservice Teacher Education within the School of Education and Human Development beginning August 2026. Preservice Teacher Education currently encompasses approximately a quarter of the Monmouth College students within its elementary, secondary, and PK-12 licensure programs.

Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate candidate courses within the preservice teacher education program. Applicants must possess comprehensive knowledge of elementary &/or secondary level pedagogy. Successful applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching, be adept at using contemporary instructional technology, and be willing to collaborate with the community and area schools to form productive relationships. Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in Educational Foundations; Content-Area Literacy; Clinical Supervision; and/or Instructional Technology.

Faculty teach six to eight courses annually, advise undergraduate students, and supervise candidates in field experiences. The successful applicant must demonstrate strong potential for excellent teaching, service in a liberal arts college setting, and academic scholarship.

Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D./Ed.D. in Teacher Education, or other closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified to teach in additional content areas, have prior experience in institutions of higher education, and have at least five years of full-time teaching experience in PK-12 or equivalent classroom settings.

The successful candidate must be committed to undergraduate teaching excellence, scholarship, academic advising, and the College’s liberal arts mission. Salary range for this position is $55,000 - $57,000 with attractive benefits package including health plan with dental and vision, retirement plan, and tuition benefits for eligible dependents.
