Landscape Construction Project Manager
Position Overview
The Landscape Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects on a daily basis. This role ensures all work is executed efficiently, meets company quality standards, and is completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager will also play a key role in Snow & Ice Management operations during the winter season.
Project Management & Cost Control
- Oversee the execution of construction projects in coordination with Construction Foremen
- Monitor job site safety, quality, and productivity across all crews
- Prepare and manage jobsites prior to project start
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery to job sites
- Communicate with clients regarding site readiness and resolve discrepancies between plans and field conditions (in writing)
- Manage and track all change orders and additional service requests
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and address concerns
- Prepare and submit weekly job-based profit and loss reports
- Perform final walkthroughs with clients and Foremen within one week of project completion
- Participate in snow and ice management operations, including snow removal for assigned properties
Employee & Crew Management
- Recruit, interview, hire, and terminate employees as needed
- Conduct Foreman performance reviews and provide ongoing training
- Collaborate with Foremen to set performance goals and develop crew members
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily activities of construction crews
- Review and manage daily paperwork including:
- Site meeting logs
- Crew reports
- Equipment inspections
- Attendance tracking
- Time and materials billing summaries
- PTO requests
- Manage subcontractors and ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Document employee incidents, performance issues, and policy violations
- Maintain professional communication with clients at all times
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in landscape construction or related field
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Knowledge of landscape construction materials, methods, tools, and equipment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Comfortable using a smartphone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting
- Availability to work Monday–Friday, with Saturdays as needed
- Typical work hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
