The organization is hiring a full-time Head of Communications to lead its brand and strategic communications function. This role will define and execute how the organization engages publicly, including with national media, policymakers, and staff on Capitol Hill. Working closely with internal policy, legal, and technical experts, this leader will translate complex regulatory and technical issues into clear, credible, and timely messaging for key external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute a high-impact communications strategy that strengthens the organization’s credibility with policymakers, regulators, media, and industry leaders.
- Shape and refine executive messaging in close partnership with the CEO, ensuring consistent, disciplined narratives across media, public appearances, and stakeholder engagement.
- Build and manage strong relationships with journalists covering crypto, financial regulation, and national policy, driving proactive coverage and handling inquiries with sound judgment.
- Translate complex policy and technical concepts into clear, persuasive communications across press materials, op-eds, digital platforms, and public-facing content.
- Prepare leadership for high-stakes engagements, including media interviews, congressional meetings, regulatory discussions, and industry forums.
- Oversee the organization’s digital presence and external communications partners, tracking impact and continuously refining strategy to increase visibility and share of voice.
Qualifications
- 7–12 years of experience in strategic communications within financial services, fintech, capital markets, digital assets, or other highly regulated industries, either in-house or at a leading agency
- Proven experience leading corporate reputation, executive visibility, and high-stakes media strategies in complex, policy-sensitive environments
- Strong understanding of how regulatory and legislative developments impact financial markets, with the ability to translate those dynamics into clear, strategic external messaging
- Demonstrated success in securing top-tier business and financial media coverage and cultivating long-term relationships with national and trade press
- Experience advising senior executives and partnering cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and policy teams to align communications with organizational priorities
- Entrepreneurial, commercially minded leader with the ability to build and scale a high-performing communications function from the ground up
