Mon Valley Pharmacy and Compounding is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician with interest or experience in compounding. The perfect candidate for this role will enjoy working with customers, treating them with compassion, patience and understanding while also having solid experience preparing and dispensing medications, organizing medication at home programs and working on compound prescriptions.DutiesAssist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accuratelyVerify prescription details against medical orders, ensuring correct medication dosage, form, and patient information.Prepare compound medications using correct calculations, ingredients and in compliance with safety standards.Prepare monthly patient pill-packs, ensuring prescriptions have refills, medications are in stock, packs are filled and checked by the pharmacist on timeManage medication inventory by receiving supplies, restocking shelves, and conducting regular stock checks to prevent shortages or expirations.Support patient intake processes by collecting relevant medical information and clarifying medication histories to ensure optimal care.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate timely medication administration and patient care.Participate in ongoing training related to medical terminology, pharmacy protocols, and new medication therapies to stay current with industry standards.SkillsProven pharmacy technician experience with an understanding of medical terminology and medication management processes.Experience with preparing compound prescriptions, or willingness to learnExcellent patient service skills with a focus on delivering compassionate care and clear communication.Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for inventory control and record keeping. Experience with Liberty software preferred.Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in medication preparation and documentation.Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
