Physical Therapy Technician

In this role, you'll work alongside licensed Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants, supporting patient care while helping create a positive, safe, and encouraging experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Location: Farr West, UT
Pay: $13.00/hour
Schedule: Part-time | Approximately 12–15 hours per week | Varying shifts based on clinic needs, with some shifts starting as early as 6:00 AM

What You'll Do

• Assist patients with prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Set up and apply therapy modalities, including heat/cold packs, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound, as directed.
• Monitor patient safety during exercises and communicate patient progress or concerns to the therapist.
• Greet patients, assist with check-in, and obtain vital signs and pain scores for therapist evaluation.
• Prepare treatment areas before and after appointments, ensuring equipment is clean, organized, safe, and ready for use.
• Help keep patients moving safely and efficiently through exercises and therapeutic procedures.
• Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, posture, and safe equipment use as instructed by the therapist.
• Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices and provide instructions on proper use and care.
• Assist with patient safety procedures, including transfers, gait belt use, one- or two-person assists, and parking escorts.
• Clean, organize, maintain, and restock treatment tables, equipment, tools, and clinical supplies.
• Conduct inventory counts and coordinate supply needs with the Clinic Director.
• Manage patient flow sheets and chart information as directed and coordinate insurance concerns with the front office.
• Support therapists with documentation, scheduling, and other clerical responsibilities.
• Assist with front-office needs such as answering phones, filing, and insurance verification when needed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, clinic policies, infection control standards, and PCI requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Physical Therapist.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare or the medical field is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, exercise, and rehabilitation preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Strong organization, time-management, and planning skills.
• High level of energy, flexibility, and self-motivation.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods while assisting patients throughout the clinic.
• Ability to demonstrate exercises and assist patients during treatment sessions.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements and regularly grasp, push, pull, and reach.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
• Ability to move and handle therapeutic equipment.
• Ability to assist with patient transfers and gait safety.
