EMS Solutions, located in Ogden, Utah, is seeking a Solder Technician to assemble, solder, and inspect electronic circuit boards using surface mount and through-hole techniques. This role helps ensure our products meet IPC standards, customer requirements, and high-quality manufacturing expectations.
Pay: $18.00/hr
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

What You'll Be Doing
- Solder surface mount and through-hole components using appropriate tools and techniques
- Inspect component placement, polarity, and solder joints for quality and IPC compliance
- Perform first article inspections and determine acceptance or rejection
- Complete circuit board rework and repairs using solder wick, heat tools, and other equipment
- Operate automated and manual soldering and inspection equipment
- Maintain IPC workmanship standards, including Level 2 and/or Level 3 requirements
- Follow ESD protocols, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures
- Communicate quality or production issues with team members, leads, and engineering
- Assist with training and mentoring other technicians as assigned
- Work with production and engineering teams to address defects and improve processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area
- Follow production documentation and written and verbal instructions
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- IPC-A-610 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
- J-STD-001 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
- Previous electronics assembly or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or similar systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to following safety and quality standards
Physical & Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to normal production noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Frequent fine motor and repetitive hand movements for detailed soldering and assembly
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
- Visual acuity to inspect small components and solder joints, including work under a microscope
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including smocks, closed-toe shoes, and heel straps
- Some bending, reaching, and stooping may be required
