Position Overview

The client is seeking a Network Engineer II to support its Network and Security Team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the agency's network infrastructure, security environment, server systems, and private cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VMware environments, Windows server administration, networking technologies, and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual server environments.
• Ensure servers remain current with security patches and updates.
• Assist with the investigation, analysis, and remediation of security incidents.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco physical switches and VMware distributed virtual switches.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cradlepoint routers.
• Monitor and manage infrastructure support tickets and backlog items.
• Support network, server, and security-related projects while meeting established deadlines.
• Document technical issues and provide recommendations for risk mitigation and remediation.
• Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain a stable and secure environment.
• Support ongoing operations within local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN), and private cloud infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with VMware vSphere.
• 3 years of experience in Windows Server Administration and VMware environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise network and server infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
• 2 years of experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
• 1 year of experience with Nessus by Tenable.
• 2 years of Cisco Networking experience.
• 1 year of Firewall Administration experience.
• 1 year of Linux Administration experience.
