Position Overview
The Math Interventionist will provide targeted math support to students in grades K–4. This position requires strong data-analysis skills, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff to design and deliver high-quality, small-group math instruction. The interventionist will work closely with the principal, classroom teachers, special education teachers, and paraprofessionals to identify student needs, create intervention plans, and monitor progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Instructional Planning
- Analyze classroom assessments, benchmark data, and progress-monitoring tools to identify students requiring math intervention.
- Form flexible, data-driven small groups and develop targeted instructional plans.
- Adjust instructional approaches and groupings based on ongoing data and student progress.
- Instructional Support
- Provide daily small-group math instruction aligned with school curriculum and grade-level standards.
- Utilize effective intervention strategies, hands-on learning, and research-based practices to support student growth.
- Monitor and document student progress and communicate results to appropriate staff.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with the principal, classroom teachers, special education staff, and paraprofessionals to coordinate intervention schedules and services.
- Participate in grade-level and support team meetings, and IEP meetings, as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff regarding student progress and instructional needs.
- Scheduling & Flexibility
- Develop and maintain a flexible intervention schedule that accommodates classroom instructional time, support services, and school events.
- Adapt quickly to schedule changes, student needs, or staffing adjustments.
- Other Duties
- Assist in providing classroom coverage or support as needed.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and a supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
- Math specialist preferred
- Bachelor’s degree; degree in Education or related field preferred. Must hold a valid PEL.
- Experience working with elementary students, math instruction, or intervention programs preferred.
- Strong data-analysis, organization, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of educators.
- Flexibility, initiative, and a student-centered mindset.
Salary range: $41,837-$84,442
