Qualifications
• Current Illinois Professional Educator License
• Experience in a similar role preferred
• Mathematics teaching experience and teacher preparation college course work in mathematics preferred
• Teaching experience in multiple grade levels preferred
• Demonstrates proficiency in teaching mathematics
• Demonstrates knowledge of Illinois Learning Standards and instructional materials for Mathematics
• Knowledge of technology-based activities that assist and facilitate student progress
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively with teacher and team members
Job Goal: To build student success in Mathematics by providing Tier II and Tier III student interventions through our MTSS Model. To provide support in enhancing Tier I teaching and learning.
Performance Responsibilities:
• Prepares appropriate lesson plans for math intervention for students
• Selects and uses materials appropriate for students
• Ensures Tier II and Tier III mathematics intervention using the district MTSS model
• Analyzes and organizes individual assessment results and state assessment results to determine areas of
weakness and share strategies to address weaknesses through prescriptive intervention
• Provides support and leadership in enhancing Tier I mathematics program
• Collaborates with classroom teachers for instructional planning and delivery
• Provides explicit, scientifically based instruction to small groups of students
• Assist in the scheduling and assignment of students to the program
• Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning
• Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher relationships
• Other duties as assigned
