Job Summary
Molokai Community Health Center (MCHC) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodial Specialist to join our Facilities team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of our campus, supporting a welcoming and professional environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in both interior and exterior spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of offices, exam rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, dust, and disinfect surfaces as required. Cleans windows.
- Maintain exterior walkways, grounds, and entryways to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Remove trash and recyclables, ensuring proper disposal.
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and sanitizers.
- Assist with room set-up for meetings and events.
- Monitor and report needed repairs or safety hazards to the Facilities Lead.
- Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
- Support special cleaning projects and seasonal maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience desirable.
- Experience in a healthcare or FQHC setting a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to adjust work schedule as needed, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
