What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at MoKan Seed and Chemical?
Join our growing agriculture retail team and play a vital role in supporting farmers and growers across Missouri and Kansas. This isn’t a typical indoor warehouse position. You’ll gain hands-on experience with a wide range of skills — from standard warehouse operations to fertilizer mixing, operating farm equipment, and seed treatment. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can spend time both indoors and outdoors, we want to hear from you.
Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train any and all tasks if you come with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying Bill of Lading (BOL) documents and accurately recording inventory.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment, double-checking pick lists and BOLs to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Safely operate forklifts, tractors, skid steers, fertilizer mixers, seed treaters, and other warehouse and farm equipment.
- Mix and blend fertilizers and chemicals according to customer specifications and label requirements.
- Operate seed treaters to prepare high-quality treated seed for customers.
- Assist with grain system operations, including loading/unloading grain trucks.
- Maintain organized inventory through regular cycle counts, audits, and proper stock rotation.
- Stock shelves, optimize warehouse layout, and keep work areas clean and safe.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting walk-in customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving order issues promptly.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with drivers and team members to ensure efficient shipping, receiving, and yard operations while strictly following all safety protocols.
- Potential to include delivery driver duties (with pay increase) - Class A CDL required
- Willingness to learn farm duties including tractor and implement, grain system, chemical mixer operation.
- Job operates M-F 7:30 am to 5pm, requires overtime, and some weekends depending on season
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or agricultural experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain one) is required. Experience with tractors, skid steers, or other heavy equipment is a strong plus, but willing to train as well.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory, mixing ratios, and shipping documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and order fulfillment.
- Willingness to learn agriculture products (fertilizer, seed, chemicals)
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record preferred.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
What We Offer
This role offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills in logistics, supply chain management, and the agriculture industry. You’ll work in a supportive environment that values hard work, learning, and variety — with the chance to break away from the monotony of traditional warehouse jobs. Once again, experience is preferred, but no experience is necessary if you are willing to learn.
