Job Summary
The Safety Lead plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and prepared learning environment across all Mojave River Academy sites. This position functions similarly to a School Resource Officer (SRO), with an expanded focus on prevention, training, coordination, and system-wide safety planning. The Safety Lead partners with site administrators, staff, and security personnel to proactively identify risks, implement safety protocols, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role also leads emergency preparedness efforts, including ALICE training and site safety evaluations.
Requirements / Qualifications
P.O.S.T Certification Experience in school safety, law enforcement, security, or a related field Knowledge of emergency response protocols and safety planning Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently across multiple sites Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations Prior experience as a School Resource Officer or similar role Experience with ALICE or other crisis response training programs Familiarity with K–12 school environments, preferably charter or multi-site settings Training or certification in emergency management, safety compliance, or related areas
