A growing engineering organization is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in water and wastewater projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex municipal projects while also contributing to business development and client relationship management.
This is a hybrid position with a competitive compensation package, including bonus potential and merit increases.
Position OverviewThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing water and wastewater projects of varying complexity, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, schedule, and budget. This role also partners closely with leadership on client engagement and business development initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Execution- Manage water and wastewater projects from planning through execution
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering and technical functions
- Oversee project design and execution while minimizing risk
- Serve as primary point of contact for key clients
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and field inspections
- Ensure high-quality client service and satisfaction
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients
- Support proposal development including technical approaches and scopes of work
- Participate in networking events, presentations, and industry engagements
- Assist leadership with departmental growth initiatives
- Work closely with marketing and technical teams on proposals and project delivery
- Support internal coordination across departments to execute projects efficiently
- Assist in mentoring and developing junior staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering (flexible for strong candidates)
- Experience working with municipal clients across planning, design, and construction
- Proven project management experience including budgets, scopes, and schedules
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
- Experience with proposal writing and business development
- PE License required
- Experience with stormwater design (nice to have)
- Background in staff development and team leadership
- Strong presentation and networking experience
- Base Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 (flexible for highly experienced candidates)
