Starkville, MS | $130,000-$150,000 Base Depending on Experience
Up to 10% Bonus | Relocation / Sign-On Support Available
We’re partnering with an advanced manufacturer that is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support process development, NPI, and production improvement for complex defense manufacturing programs.
This is a strong fit for an engineer with hands-on experience across machining, welding, metal fabrication, assembly, work instructions, BOMs, and Lean/Kaizen. The right person can work directly with production, solve problems on the floor, and help improve how complex aerospace and defense products are built.
This is not a desk-only engineering role. They need someone who is comfortable around the shop floor, understands build-to-print manufacturing, and can support complex components and assemblies from process development through production ramp-up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop manufacturing processes for build-to-print aerospace and defense parts
- Create and improve work instructions, routers, process documentation, and production standards
- Lead new product introduction and support production ramp-up
- Support manufacturing of machined components, welded assemblies, fabricated parts, and complex assemblies
- Create and maintain BOMs, facility layouts, and assembly line layouts
- Work hands-on with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
- Partner with quality, engineering, operations, supply chain, and production teams
- Improve manufacturing flow, efficiency, repeatability, and quality
- Drive Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support tooling, fixture reviews, process changes, and production readiness
- Help improve build processes for defense products such as missile canisters, launchers, and related assemblies
What They’re Looking For
- 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with machining, welding, metal fabrication, and assembly
- Strong background creating work instructions, BOMs, process documentation, and production layouts
- Experience supporting NPI, production ramp-up, and build-to-print manufacturing
- Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement experience
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and work directly with shop-floor teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology may be considered with strong experience
Why You’ll Love It
- $130,000-$150,000 base depending on experience
- Up to 10% bonus
- Relocation/sign-on support available
- Hands-on role supporting advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing
- Work on complex products tied to missile canisters, launchers, and defense systems
- Broad exposure across machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and process improvement
- Strong fit for an engineer who wants ownership, technical variety, and shop-floor impact
- Opportunity to lead NPI, improve production flow, and drive real manufacturing results
