Import Operations Coordinator
Carlstadt, NJ 07072 | Fully Onsite | $27–$30/hr DOE Benefits
A growing logistics and transportation company is seeking an experienced Import Operations Coordinator to support high-volume shipment coordination, freight operations, and import documentation workflows.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation coordination, import/export operations, or shipment processing environments.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipment operations from arrival through final delivery
• Review and process shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, arrival notices, and delivery orders
• Track and trace shipments while proactively resolving delays and operational issues
• Communicate with carriers, truckers, warehouses, vendors, customers, and logistics partners regarding shipment status and delivery scheduling
• Coordinate freight releases and shipment appointments
• Support import documentation and compliance workflows to ensure shipment accuracy
• Resolve freight discrepancies, shipment holds, demurrage, and operational issues
• Maintain accurate operational records and update shipment data within logistics systems
• Work within fast-paced, deadline-driven logistics environments while managing multiple shipments simultaneously
Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in logistics, import/export operations, freight forwarding, transportation coordination, or shipment processing
• Experience handling shipping/import documentation and shipment tracking workflows
• Familiarity with freight operations, carrier coordination, and logistics compliance processes preferred
• Experience with CargoWise, AS400, SAP, EDI, TMS systems, or similar logistics software preferred
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume operational environment
