Grand Rapids, MI | $75,000–$110,000 salary (DOE)
Shift: A-Shift (Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM) | 100% Onsite
Schedule:4-day workweek (Mon–Thu)
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a rapidly growing, family-owned precision machining company that produces tight-tolerance components for commercial, customers, including Fortune 500 clients. The team is AS9100 and ISO 13485 certified, and they’re adding a CNC Programmer / Process Engineer to own Swiss programming and drive process improvements on the floor.
This is a strong fit for someone who cares about cycle time, scrap reduction, repeatability, tooling strategy, and operator success—not just writing programs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Program and set up Swiss CNC lathes using Esprit CAD/CAM
- Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and increase output
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for complex components
- Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and stabilize production
- Train and support operators to improve consistency and performance
- Provide hands-on floor support when needed to keep production moving
What They’re Looking For
- 2 years programming Swiss-style CNC lathes preferred
- Esprit CAD/CAM proficiency
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining fundamentals
- Experience in aerospace/medical or other high-precision environments (strong plus)
- A hands-on problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
- Comfortable training operators and being the go-to on the floor
