Mohave College is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Temporary Custodian (19.5 hours per week) to help maintain clean, safe, and inviting facilities for students, employees, and visitors. This position plays an important role in supporting the College’s mission by ensuring our campuses remain welcoming environments where learning, collaboration, and community engagement can thrive.

As a member of the Student Life & Community Engagement team, you will contribute to the daily care and appearance of classrooms, offices, common areas, and campus facilities. Your work directly impacts the student experience and helps create an environment that promotes safety, comfort, and success.

This position is scheduled to work Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with one evening ending at 11:00 p.m., for a total of 19.5 hours per week. The evening schedule provides an opportunity to support campus operations after regular business hours while helping ensure facilities are prepared for students, employees, and visitors each day.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a range of custodial and light groundskeeping duties, including but not limited to:
  • Litter removal from outdoor areas.
  • Sweeping walkways and outdoor areas.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, including fixtures, floors, and surfaces.
  • Cleaning classrooms, offices, and common areas (e.g., vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors).
  • Dusting furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Emptying trash receptacles and recycling bins.
  • Replenishing supplies (e.g., toilet paper, paper towels, soap).
  • Washing windows and glass surfaces.
• Moving and lifting cleaning supplies, equipment, and furniture as needed.
• Assisting with basic setups for college events as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Minimum:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical tasks requiring bending, lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in custodial services, janitorial work, or general facilities maintenance.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
