Key Responsibilities
- Perform all responsibilities of a Set-Up Technician I, including mold and tooling setup.
- Conduct accurate and efficient mold setups and machine startups to maintain high output and product consistency.
- Monitor part quality, complete First Article forms, and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Manage material handling systems, including silo changes and raw material coordination.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues as they arise.
- Track scrap levels and make adjustments to meet or exceed department KPIs.
- Coordinate priorities and activities with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Accurately enter and maintain records within AS400 and Mattec systems.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in plastic injection molding or thermoforming setups.
- Proven experience in accurate and efficient mold setups and machine startups.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude for troubleshooting process issues.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute documented run parameters for molds and materials.
- Hands-on experience as a high-level machine operator in a manufacturing setting.
- Basic knowledge of material properties and machine operation principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
- Strong reliability, attendance, and job stability record.
- One or more years of direct experience in thermoforming or extrusion setup within plastics manufacturing.
- Familiarity with thermoforming molds, tooling, and temperature control systems.
- Experience with plastic materials such as ABS, PET, PP, and HDPE.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement programs.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or related quality assurance systems.
- Experience with Mattec, AS400, or similar data management tools.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Outlook, and production reporting tools.
- Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday – Friday
