This role involves supervising millwrights, planning and executing preventive and breakdown maintenance, and implementing best practices for safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of millwrights and technicians on the shift.
- Plan, prioritize, and assign maintenance jobs, including preventive, breakdown, and shutdown tasks.
- Perform inspections and ensure quality maintenance work on machinery and plant infrastructure (doors, HVAC, rooftop fans, etc.).
- Train engineers and technicians on maintenance techniques, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Execute equipment upgrade projects to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Report breakdown analyses and recommend improvements to the Maintenance Head.
- Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and PPE on the shop floor.
- Implement and follow OSHA safety standards and SAP/ERP maintenance processes.
- Maintain records of planned jobs, machine conditions, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure equipment readiness and smooth operations.
- Directly supervises millwrights on the shift.
- Responsible for training, assigning work, performance appraisals, and addressing employee concerns according to company policies.
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 4–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in mechanical operations.
- Strong knowledge of plant machinery, mechanical systems, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Proficient in using SAP/ERP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best maintenance practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute maintenance schedules.
