Overview
- A fast-growing adventure lifestyle brand is seeking a Controller to lead and scale its finance function. The role manages accounting operations, financial reporting, cash-flow processes, and partners with operations, HR, supply chain, and vendors. Reports directly to the CEO.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Manage GL, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
- Improve financial reporting; support budgeting and forecasting
- Oversee cash-flow planning and liquidity
- Partner with operations on logistics, supply chain, inventory, and vendors
- Support HR functions such as payroll, benefits, and compliance
- Evaluate and enhance financial and operational workflows
- Manage QuickBooks and recommend system improvements
- Provide strategic insights and help build scalable processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong experience in accounting; ideal step-up role for an Assistant Controller
- Advanced QuickBooks proficiency required
- Experience managing full close cycles independently
- Knowledge of HR processes, logistics, supply chain, and vendor management
- Strong GAAP and financial controls experience
- Process-builder mindset with ability to improve systems and structure
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Growth-stage or entrepreneurial experience preferred
- Private Equity exposure a plus
- Must be based in the greater Minneapolis area
- Build the finance function from the ground up
- High-visibility role reporting directly to the CEO
- Broad operational exposure beyond traditional accounting
