Director Infection Prevention and Control
The Director of the Infection Prevention & Control Department is responsible for the design,
planning, implementation and evaluation of the Infection Prevention & Control Program. This
includes staffing, personnel evaluation, department coordination, allocation of supplies, and
financial and budgeting activities. The position is responsible for assuring compliance with
Infection Prevention & Control accreditation, licensure and regulatory standards set forth by
CDC, ACHA, Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS,, etc. The Director develops and implements the
infection control and prevention activities within the Cancer Center in collaboration with the
Physician Epidemiologist and the Infection Control Committee, utilizing the principles of
epidemiology to plan the prevention of the spread of endemic and epidemic diseases within the
Cancer Center. The principles are applied to the specific ages and life stage of the populations
served.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's Degree – Infection Control, Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology (Required)
Licensure:
- Certification in Infection Control (Preferred)
Minimum Experience Required:
- Five (5) years' experience in infection prevention and control and two (2) years supervisory/managerial experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
- Capable of multi-tasking, self-direction and independent action. Broad knowledge of accreditation, regulatory and licensing agency standards and processes
