Summary

Position Highlights: The Radiology Director provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for all imaging services across assigned locations. This leader is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory and accreditation compliance, operational efficiency, financial stewardship, staff engagement, and collaboration with physician and administrative partners. The Director drives performance improvement initiatives, leads multidisciplinary teams, and ensures that imaging services deliver safe, efficient, and exceptional care consistent with the organization’s mission and standards. The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated success leading teams, managing budgets, improving workflows, and driving quality outcomes.
  • Must have knowledge of regulatory and reimbursement requirements and proven track record of successful program management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent decision making, promoting safe patient care and customer satisfaction required.
  • Interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership to team members and faculty and maintain a collaborative working relationship in an interdisciplinary model.
  • Ability to interact with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to assure day-to-day operations and strategic planning for future services.
  • Demonstrated skills and aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, staff development and time management. Responsibilities:
  • Operational & Strategic Leadership
  • Direct daily operations for diagnostic imaging services (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, PET, X-Ray, Interventional Radiology) to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered workflows
  • Regulatory & Quality Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with Joint Commission, ACR accreditation requirements, CMS Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and institutional policies.
  • Financial Management
  • Manage departmental budget including labor, supplies, capital planning, and purchased services.
  • People Leadership & Culture
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for managers, supervisors, technologists, and administrative staff. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner closely with Radiologists, Advanced Practice Providers, Nursing, and clinical departments to support seamless care delivery. Collaborate with IT, Facilities, and Biomed on equipment lifecycle management, downtime mitigation, and system implementation.
  • Communicate regularly with executive leadership on departmental performance, risks, and strategic opportunities. Credentials and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Radiologic Technology *If Associate degree Radiologic Sciences has been obtained prior to date of hire, a bachelor’s degree must be obtained within 24 months of date of hire.
  • Licensure: Must have any one(!) certification from the following – ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCP or ARMRIT
  • CRT – Certified Radiologic Technologist
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in diagnostic imaging operations within a hospital, academic setting, or multi-site healthcare environment.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in both technical, professional, and administrative roles in Imaging Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree (MBA. MHA, MPA, MS in Imaging Sciences or related field)

Salary Range

$145,253.16 - $218,025.60

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
