Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines.
- Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies and ensuring all food prep areas are sanitized and well-stocked.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Follow food safety standards in handling ingredients and maintaining cleanliness throughout the food prep process.
- Help with meal assembly and plating under supervision to ensure timely service.
- Maintain open communication with kitchen staff to support smooth operations during busy hours.
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with food industry safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Experience working in restaurants or catering environments is beneficial.
- Basic knife skills such as slicing techniques are advantageous.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and cleaning procedures is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members in a fast-paced setting.
