Manufacturing Laborer/Carpenter

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Need to be willing to travel.

• Perform general material, specifically wood and metal, handling functions, such as cutting, sawing, grinding, sanding, measuring and assembly.
• Operating motorized machines and various hand tools, including but not limited to skill saw, table saw, miter saw, band saw, drill press, grinder and sander, in accordance with standard operating procedures identified for the specific tool.
• Read blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Construct frames and decking.
• Perform general material handling functions, such as; jobsite clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
• Accurately record production information. This includes recording using a scanner, computer, or by hand.
• Inspect parts for defects, repair if possible, and inform appropriate personnel of non-conforming parts.
• Performing all job duties following company safety rules and proper use of assigned personal protective equipment.
• Applicants must be willing and able to work weekday and weekend overtime if necessary.
• Must be willing and able to work in extreme weather conditions if necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material.
• Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching and climbing.
• Frequent use of motorized machines and hand tools.
• Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
• Able to read, write, and comprehend the meaning of basic communications.
• The ability to learn basic computer systems.
• Have basic counting and math skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Six (6) months or more of carpentry/woodworking and/or manufacturing work experience is preferred.
• Previous forklift experience.
