Quality Engineer - Powertrain (Engine/Thermal systems)

Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer - Powertrain (Engine/Thermal systems) for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate will help drive quality and reliability improvements for engine and thermal systems by leading root cause investigations and developing effective repair solutions.

Rate Range: $30/Hour to $32/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Quality Engineer - Powertrain (Engine/Thermal Systems) Responsibilities Include

• Lead quality improvement projects by investigating engine and thermal system issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Analyze warranty data and failure trends to identify high-cost repair opportunities and improve product reliability.
• Design, execute, and coordinate testing activities to replicate concerns, validate solutions, and prevent future failures.
• Collaborate with engineers, technical specialists, and quality teams to develop effective repair strategies and service solutions.
• Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support long-term quality and warranty reduction goals.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 months of experience leading engineering or quality improvement projects.
• Experience with internal combustion engines, thermal systems, or after-treatment systems in design, testing, controls, or calibration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL/BigQuery, or similar technologies.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
