Job description:
About the Role
Modern Thrive Counseling is seeking a compassionate, engaged, and skilled Child & Youth Psychotherapist to join our collaborative team. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about supporting individuals and couples through meaningful therapeutic work grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect.
You’ll have the opportunity to provide personalized care to a diverse client base—with a focus on children, as well as the opportunity to support teens and adults if interested—through both in-person and virtual sessions. Our therapists use a range of evidence-informed approaches to help clients navigate life’s challenges, deepen self-awareness, and move toward healing and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a warm, affirming space for clients during intake sessions and throughout the therapeutic relationship.
- Complete thoughtful clinical assessments to better understand each client’s unique experiences, needs, and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect client values and aspirations.
- Provide ongoing therapy using modalities such as Play Therapy, CBT, IFS, EMDR, ACT, ERP and/or somatic interventions while staying grounded in relational and trauma-informed care.
- Facilitate sessions addressing areas such as grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, and emotional regulation.
- Respond to client needs with care and professionalism, offering support and de-escalation strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with fellow clinicians and external providers to ensure coordinated, wraparound care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in alignment with ethical, legal, and clinical standards (including HIPAA and diagnostic coding requirements).
- Offer telehealth sessions to increase accessibility and flexibility for clients.
- Engage in continuing education and reflective practice to grow your clinical skills and stay attuned to best practices in the field.
Who You Are
- A licensed mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, or equivalent).
- Grounded in empathy and strengths-based care.
- Experienced in working with children, families, and individuals with a range of mental health needs.
- Comfortable integrating creative, modern, or somatic therapies (e.g., art therapy, dance/movement therapy) into treatment when appropriate.
- Skilled in teletherapy platforms and confident delivering services in virtual settings.
- Familiar with diagnostic frameworks and best practices in treatment planning.
- Committed to collaboration, open communication, and being an active contributor to a supportive team culture.
