Job Overview
Modern Psychiatry is a fast-growing mental health practice offering integrative psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychological services both in-person and via telehealth, serving patients in New Jersey and across the United States. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team in Toms River, NJ. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC or LAMFT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in providing therapeutic services to individuals across the lifespan in various settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics. The candidate must be working toward their independent licensure. Supervision is available for those without a clinical supervisor. The LSW / LAC / LAMFT will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and delivering high-quality mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including behavioral therapy, to support clients dealing with various mental health challenges.
- Must have experience working with both children and adults.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and effective treatment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment interventions in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Engage in research data collection to contribute to ongoing program evaluation and improvement efforts.
- Stay informed about best practices in the social work / counseling fields and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Experience
- A Master’s degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC / LAMFT).
- Experience working with children and families in clinical settings is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to ethical practice and maintaining confidentiality in all client interactions.
