What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Nanny for a Sweet Infant Girl — Armonk, NY (Part-Time Start, Full-Time by October) position at Modern Maison?
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (3 months, possible extension to 6)
Location: Southern Westchester, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approx. 8:00am–5:00/6:00pm (some flexibility on exact hours; Mon–Thurs also being considered)
Compensation: $30–$35/hour
Start Date: Early October 2026
About the Role
A warm, first-time parent family in Southern Westchester is welcoming their son and looking for an experienced nanny to join them this fall on a temporary basis. Both parents work full-time in a hybrid setup, splitting time between home and Manhattan, so they'll be present in the house during the day — the right person will move through the household with ease and good instincts, knowing when to engage and when to hold things quietly steady.
Their son will be about 4 months old at the start date. He has a full nursery, though he's currently still sleeping in the parents' room in a bassinet/crib. There's a friendly 30-pound dog in the home (non-hypoallergenic, sheds — comfort around dogs needed), a backyard, and a quiet, dead-end street setting. The family is looking for someone who genuinely loves the newborn/early infant stage — floor time, fresh air, sensory play, and the small daily milestones.
This is a temporary role (approximately 3 months, with a possible extension to 6 depending on daycare placement timing), making it a great fit for a nanny between long-term positions or looking for a defined-term contract. The family is warm, communicative, and eager to build trust with someone they can lean on as first-time parents.
What You Will Do
- Provide full-time, hands-on care for one infant (4 months at start)
- Support daily routines — feeding, naps, floor time, sensory play, walks/stroller outings
- Use family vehicle to transport baby to parks, walks, or enrichment activities as needed (backup personal vehicle occasionally appreciated but not required)
- Keep the nursery and any spaces used with the baby clean and organized
- Communicate warmly and consistently with parents throughout the day
- Provide light, related tasks during nap windows (baby laundry, tidying baby-related spaces) — no deep cleaning or family laundry
- Be comfortable around a friendly family dog
